Adding social sharing

Adding social sharing tools to your page can help make it easier for visitors to your site share what they have found with their friends.

There are many free tools to do this and they can easily be embedded into your site. Here we are going to show you how to do this with Add This (http://www.addthis.com/).

Step 1 - Configure Sharing Tools

Head over to Add This and select to get their tools. To begin, simply Click 'Activate' to Sign up and fill out your details.

From here you are able to select the type of social sharing buttons you would like and customise which social platforms will be the most popular on your site.

From here, you can also choose the design of your buttons.

Step 2. Copy Embed Code

With your buttons configured you will now need to Copy the embed code from the first box.

Step 3. Add to your page

The code comes in two parts. One part gets inserted into the page, the second part needs to be put within the <head> tags of your pages and this can be done in the settings of your website.

Part One - The button code

Copy the first part of the code (nominated by the span tags) and add it into your page. You can do this by:

1. Dragging the HTML Box Widget onto the canvas

2. Double click to edit the content of the widget. Paste in your new code, replacing any default code in the widget.

Part Two - The head code

The second part requires you to copy the code available in the second box on Share This (nominated by the script tag) and add it into your website settings. You can do this by:

1) Clicking on your website settings

2) Scroll down to the section named 'Head Tags'

3) Paste the code into the box (you will need to be on a paid plan to have this enabled).

That's it. From here you can save & publish and test to ensure your form is working correctly.
